Recent Research Reveals Early Education Benefits
New scientific studies document siginificant growth in the language, literacy and mathematical skills
of children who attend state-supported pre-kindergaten programs, according to the National Institute for Early Research (NIEER)
at Rutgers.
Vocabulary scores are a strong indicator of a child's later cognitive abilities and reading success,
the Institute commented, adding that the literacy awarenedd study showed that children in the state-funded programs knew more
letters, letter-sound associations and were more familiar with words and books concepts. A complete report is
